Jaguar Land Rover plans to expand its dealership network form 15 to 20 during this fiscal, Mr Rohit Suri, Head, Premier Car Division, Jaguar Land Rover India, said.
The luxury car maker opened its 15th dealership across India and the first in Pune on Saturday — this one in partnership with Ace Perkins.
“We are seeing tremendous response and we are giving a good run to competition from German brands. So, we are expanding the network and aiming to have a total of 20 dealerships during this fiscal,” Mr Suri said. Now present in 13 cities, he added that the company was well represented in the metros and Bangalore, Surat and Aurangabad were amongst the cities being considered for expansion.
JLR sales in India during FY’12 stood at 2,300 units. Mr Suri said that new models like the Jaguar XJ Ultimate and Jaguar F 2-seater sports car will be launched here soon, but declined to give sales numbers for the current fiscal.
The Pune showroom spans over 12,000 square feet and has a 9-car display area. It is supported by a workshop in Wagholi which has 13 service bays as well as a body shop and paint facility. A total of 60 employees will be based at these two locations.
